CVE-2026-103916
📛 CVE Title
Docker Sandboxes sbx cp follows workspace symlinks outside the authorized host directory
Description
Docker Sandboxes sbx cp does not safely confine host-side paths to a shared workspace. A malicious sandbox can create or replace a workspace symlink so that a later user-initiated copy reads a host file outside the workspace into the sandbox or writes sandbox-controlled data to a host path outside the workspace with the invoking user's permissions.

Vulnerability Summary A path confinement flaw in Docker Sandboxes' sbx cp functionality allows a malicious sandbox to manipulate workspace symlinks. This enables a later user-initiated copy operation to read host files outside the designated workspace into the sandbox, or write sandbox data to host paths outside the workspace, using the invoking user's permissions. None of these is a clean fix , which is why the decision on how to remediate depends on knowing what package versions are running in production and why. This post will cover how AI has accelerated CVE detection and discovery, the upgrade trap, what CVE remediation actually involves in 2026 , and how to solve the CVE remediation problem.
